Let’s unite ahead of 2020 elections – Upper East Regional Women’s Organizer of NPP

The Upper East Regional Women’s Organiser of the New Patriotic Party, Georgina Ayamba, is rallying members of the party to unite ahead of the 2020 elections.

She says the just ended parliamentary primaries of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) are only a first step in a long electoral process.

According to her, there is a need for party members to consider the bigger picture, which is the party’s unity, in mind.

Madam Georgina Ayamba who made the call in her congratulation message to parliamentary aspirants who emerged victorious in the party’s parliamentary primaries on Saturday, June 20, 2020, commended all the party executives, delegates and aspirants for the peaceful and successful manner in which their internal contest were conducted.

The regional women’s organiser emphasised that there were no losers or winners in their primaries, stressing that the NPP family won and shall work hard with the support of all to retain their three seats and increase their parliamentary seats in the region.

She appealed to the elected parliamentary candidates to reach out to their contenders who did not win to resolve their differences and build a unity of purpose for victory in the general elections.

She charged those who were unsuccessful not to be disheartened but rather support their parliamentary candidates to win their respective seats.

Madam Georgina Ayamba urged all party members and sympathisers to rally behind their respective parliamentary candidates to retain power in 2020 and increase astronomically their parliamentary seats.

She noted that it is the interest of the NPP that should be placed first above all other things, and not the individual interest. The regional women’s organiser explained that the essence of parliamentary primaries is to deepen democracy at the grassroots level for the benefit of the ordinary Ghanaian.

According to her, the unprecedented development witnessed in Ghana under the Nana Addo-Bawumia led government continues to the make the NPP, the best choice of the Ghanaian people for progress and prosperity.

She said since the party took office in 2016, the region had seen some development, adding that, such achievements gave the party better chances of retaining its three seats and for that matter increased the seats in the region.

“Our roads, our children have benefited from the Free Senior High School programme, Nation Builders’ Corp (NaBCo), forestry, Ghana Post as well as other social intervention programmes and we have seen improvements in several areas, whether social interventions, health and education, among others,” she said.

She added that the party remains committed to delivering on its promises to better the lives of all residents in the region and the country at large.
