Traders at the Sekondi Market have bemoaned poor sanitation confronting them at the market.
They raised concerns about the drainage system saying it is a contributory factor to the problem.
Our news team reports that filth has engulfed the market and the issue is of much concern to the traders as it poses serious risk to health.
The traders are therefore calling for the positioning of waste bins at vantage points in the market.
Another issue that came to the fore is the inability of the Sekondi-sub metro to ensure that, the market is cleaned after market days.
Workers billed for the work are no longer doing their job.
Reacting to this, the Environmental Health Officer of the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly STMA, Abdul Kareem Hudu explained that the Assembly is doing its best to ensure cleanliness at the market.
He said the attitude of some traders makes the place untidy and directed individuals get refuse bins in their shops to help maintain sanity at the market.
