Director of passports at the ministry of foreign affairs and regional integration, Mr. Louis Kweme Obeng has indicated, his agency is currently operating 13 application centers across the country.
In an interview with, Accra based radio station on Tuesday 29, June 2021, Mr. Obeng indicated that the passport service have a system where, currently, 13 application centers are operational.
“10 of these centers are in the regional capitals and the other three are in Tamale, Kumasi, and Accra”.
He said, “passport office currently has an online application system and this application system is appointment base system where applicants who want to apply for a passport required only an internet connection.”
According to the director, some of the towns where these application centers can be located include Sunyani, Kumasi, Tamale, Ho, Koforidua, Wa, Tema, and Accra.
Mr. Obeng further added an arrangement is in place to have application centers in all the regions.
“ We have new regions that do not have an application center yet. My minister has initiated a program that will ensure that all these newly created regions have application centers”.
