The Ghana National Fire Service says eight of its personnel were on Sunday, June 5, 2022, involved in a near fatal accident while responding to a fire call.
The crew who were responding to an emergency call at Council Quarters at Kyekyewere a suburb of Obuasi met their fate around the stadium Road Junction where a heap of sand had been left in the middle of the road.
In a statement, the Ghana National Fire Service said, ”in a bid to avoid running into the heap of sand, the fire tender lost balance and landed on its side injuring the eight man-crew on board.”
”The crew were rescued and sent to a Health facility for attention.”
Two of the injured have been discharged, while the rest are on admission.
