Compassion International Ghana (CIGH), has outdoor new digital literacy tools for children.
The organization has also distributed 225 learning aid tablets to boost digital literacy training.
This was disclosed at a program to mark this year’s International Literacy Day in Ho in the Volta Region.

The Senior Manager of Compassion International Ghana, Isaac Brown says literacy faces numerous challenges in the country which needs to be addressed.
International Literacy Day is celebrated on September 8 every year to remind the world of the importance of literacy and its benefits to mankind.

According to UNESCO, 42 percent of the adult population is illiterate. This year’s celebration was on the theme: ‘transforming literacy spaces’.
The Senior Manager of Compassion International Ghana, Isaac Brown said the organization wants more than 30 thousand people to benefit from digital literacy by 2025.
“We have in partnership with Worldreader Ghana aided the training of our participants in 8 clusters representing four out of the 16 Regions. We have distributed 225 learning aid tablets to our fifteen Frontline church partners piloting the digital literacy training. The goal is to ensure that over 30 thousand participants benefit from digital literacy by 2025”.
Worldreader’s Program Manager for West Africa, Abdul-Kahad Alhassan said in partnership with Compassion International Ghana they hope to provide low-cost digital reading solutions to 90 communities. It is part of measures to help children develop the habit of reading and also overcome educational barriers.

Some of the participants exhibited their digital literacy prowess.
Compassion International Ghana is a Non-Governmental Organization which seeks to holistically support churches to develop children and the youth.
