The 46th President of the United State of America, Joe Biden has taken to Twitter to congratulate the Atlas Lions of Morocco’s performance in the 2022 World Cup Tournament despite their defeat.
President Biden said in a tweet, “it was an honour to watch the World Cup game alongside the Prime Minister of Morocco”, whiles congratulating their remarkable achievement in this year’s World Cup.

The tweet was featured with the President seated with other African leaders including the Nigerian president, who are in the US for an African-US summit, watching the football match.
Other world leaders including Emmanuel Macron and influential individuals such as Fabrizio Romano have also taken to their social handles to congratulate the Moroccan team for winning the hearts of millions in this World Cup for their performance.
Morocco, the first African country to qualify to the semi-finals round of the tournament, played and lost to the reigning champions France on a 2:0 full time gritty game against the Atlas Lions.
The final match will be held on Sunday December 18, 2022 between Messi’s Argentina and Mbappe’s France at the Lusail Stadium in Doha Qatar.
