Bechem United maintained their impressive unbeaten run, now stretching to seven games, following a goalless draw against Bibiani Gold Stars at Nana Gyeabour Park during the 12th match of the season.
In a highly competitive match marked by intense defensive efforts from both sides, Bechem United came close to breaking the deadlock in the 21st minute. A well-timed pass from Bechem United’s right back, Aaron Essel, found Augustine Okrah, who went one-on-one with Bibiani Gold Stars’ goalkeeper Osei Yaw but unfortunately blasted the ball over the post.
The home team continued to press in the 27th minute, as left back Francis Acquah delivered a shot across to Okrah, but it was skillfully cleared by Gold Stars’ defender Emmanuel Odai.
Despite the intense defensive battle in the first half, neither team managed to break the deadlock.
Bechem United nearly found the breakthrough in the 55th minute of the second half, with an exceptional pass from Emmanuel Avornyo to Cephas Kofi Mantey, the striker for Bechem United. Mantey cut the ball back to Emmanuel Owusu, the substitute, but the attempt was intercepted by Gold Stars’ defender Emmanuel Odai.
Despite Bechem United’s relentless pressure and numerous chances, including Augustine Okrah hitting the woodwork in the 62nd minute and Emmanuel Avornyo also hitting the woodwork, the game concluded in a goalless draw.
