The Vice President and Flagbearer for the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia has added to the resources of North East Region a new Sports complex.
The Sports complex which was personally funded by the Vice President has been named after the late Overlord of Mamprugu, Naa Sheriga.
The facility bears in its capacity auxiliary facilities such as a standard astroturf, a VIP stand, Changing rooms, and a popular stand with 1000 seating capacity. It also has a standing area for future expansions.
According to Dr. Bawumia, the facility will aside sports development within Nalerigu and its surrounding towns, and also serve as a recreational centre because of its space.
“The Naa Sheriga Sports Complex will only not enhance sports development in the community. it will also be used as a recreational centre as it can host many social events”, he said.
He was joined by Ghanaian Football Legends like Stephen Appiah, Asamoah Gyan, Laryea Kingson and Emmanuel Armagh in the commissioning of the Sports complex.
