The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon couldn’t roar enough as they were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw against the National Elephants of Guinea at the Charles Konan Bannt Stadium in Yamoussoukro on Monday, January 15, 2024.
The National Elephant of Guinea weren’t to be taken lightly, as they opened the scoring in the 10th minute when Le Havre striker Mohamed Bayo got his boost with a wonderful goal.
Guinea, after scoring the first goal, grew into some rhythm as they tried to take the game to Cameroon in the first half. Guinea eventually ended the second half on a bad note, as Françios Kamano saw red in the 45th minute.
Cameroon, with a man advantage, started the second half stronger by giving Guinea some hard time as they mounted pressure on the National Elephant. The 10-man Guinean team couldn’t handle the pressure from the Indomitable Lions, as they were peaked back in the 51st minute by a well-timed header from Frank Magri to level the scores.
The Indomitable Lions, immediately after getting the equaliser, started to make things very difficult for the National Elephant as they dominated play by creating chances, which saw Guinean goalkeeper Ibrahim Kone come to party on numerous occasions.
