Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia has cast his vote in the town of Walewale, his hometown in the North East Region of Ghana, as the country continues with its 2024 elections.
After voting, Bawumia expressed optimism about his chances of securing a victory, citing strong support from the electorate and his belief in the development agenda of his party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
“I am confident that the people of Ghana will once again make the right choice and reaffirm their trust in the NPP’s vision for progress and prosperity,” Bawumia said. He also commended the peaceful conduct of the election process so far and called on all Ghanaians to maintain calm and ensure the process remains free and fair.
Bawumia, who is running for president in the 2024 elections, has been an influential figure in the current government, particularly known for his work in the areas of digital transformation and economic reforms. As the polls continue, many are closely watching his performance, as he seeks to build on the legacy of his running mate, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
