The Vice Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has cast his ballot in the ongoing Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
He was the 40th voter to successfully go through the process at his voting centre of Apagyafie at Ash Town in the Manhyia South Constituency in the Ashanti region.
Dr. Opoku Prempeh arrived at the voting centre at about 7:45 am in the company of his wife, Mrs. Alma Pokuaa Opoku Prempeh, and some of his Campaign Aids.
He first had to go to the Apagyafie, his paternal home, to exchange pleasantries with the Apagyahene, Oheneba Owusi Afriyie, before going through the voting process.
His wife was the first to vote at the same polling Centre, where NAPO’s mother and sister had earlier voted.
The Apagyafie Polling Centres has a total of 598 voters on the Register.
The Running Mate cast his ballot at exactly 8:10 am, and by 8:20, 53 persons had cast their ballots at exactly Centre.
Addressing the media on behalf of the Running Mate, his Senior Campaign Aid, Dr. Kwabena Kokofu, who is also a former MP for Bantama, expressed satisfaction with the elections so far and was optimistic that the turnout would be very high in the Ashanti region.
Also with the Running Mate was the former MP for Manso Nkwanta in the Ashanti region, Albert Quarm. Meanwhile, the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu, who also votes in the Manhyia South Constituency, is scheduled to cast his ballot before midday at a Polling Centres located within the Manhyia Palace.
