The Electoral Commission (EC) has officially declared Baba Sadiq, a media practitioner and entertainment consultant, as the new Member of Parliament for Okaikwei Central.

Baba Sadiq, running on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ticket, secured victory with 15,383 votes, narrowly defeating the incumbent MP, Patrick Yaw Boamah of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who polled 14,949 votes.

This marks a significant political shift, as Okaikwei Central has traditionally been an NPP stronghold. Baba Sadiq’s win represents a major milestone for the NDC in the constituency.

The result was announced after hours of counting and verification by the Electoral Commission. Baba Sadiq is known for his background in media and entertainment, and his election signals fresh representation for the people of Okaikwei Central.
