Former Finance Minister Dr. Kwabena Duffour has hailed the presidential inauguration as Ghana’s “new independence,” emphasising the opportunities that Ghanaians will experience under Mahama’s government.
He stated, “This is our new independence and freedom for all Ghanaians.”
In an interview on Channel One during the inauguration of John Mahama as president of Ghana, Dr. Duffour stressed that all Ghanaians will enjoy freedom and protection under the law.
The event, held on January 7, 2025, at Independence Square in Accra, saw in attendance some former presidents of Ghana and dignitaries from around Africa and the world, among others.
He also highlighted the government’s commitment to empowering young people, particularly in the finance ministry, where they will be advised, supported, and given the opportunity to gain valuable experience.
