The Daily Graphic advocates the need for a clean Accra which is one of President Akufo-Addo’s vision. The paper commends the newly appointed Greater Accra Regional Minister, Henry Quartey for a good work done so far. It says, it is the responsibility of the regional minister to ensure that every exercise brings sanity into the city hence, it should not be a one-day wonder. The paper is however shocked by the current state of indiscipline in the region and calls on all and sundry to help offer support in achieving the goal of making Accra the cleanest city in Africa. The Graphic entreats everyone not to make cleaning exercises a political matter because it leads to retrogression and demonstrates greed and selfishness.

The Ghanaian Times describes as unfortunate the rate at which demolition issues are brewing at a time the Ministry of Works and Housing is expressing government’s commitment to create an enabling environment with the construction of mass housing, which is intended to solve the deficit in the sector. The Paper questions the whereabouts of the District Assembly and other relevant institutions when people start building in the disputed areas. It says the country should be proactive in matters of housing to save people the trouble of losing the huge investments made to acquire houses. The Times describes as worrying the situation where ordinary Ghanaians struggle to build for themselves because the so-called affordable houses are usually hijacked by the elites and those on the corridors of power.
