Blooming Minds Young Writers and Achievers (BMYWA) is an annual award to celebrate children and young people for the exhibition of their creativity.
This year’s has taken place in Accra and many young people were given various categories of awards for the work done.
Speaking to Nation 1 TV at the event, the organiser, Mrs Thelma Ofosu-Asamoah, said the awards ceremony is part of the bigger project being rolled of by the organisation to champion and focus on children between the ages of six and twenty.
She expressed her optimism that program will shape the creativity of the children and consequently lead them to become great leaders in the future. She posit that the children will be critical thinkers, a tool needed for one to understand good leadership and become one.
On the way forward, Mrs Ofosu-Asamoah, who is also a Social Enteprenuer, Finance Analyst and Youth Advocate, expects the event to receive much greater patronage in the coming year. Her expectations is to have about twenty thousand kids taking parts in next year’s edition.
Again, she indicated her preparedness to partner with the relevant ministries and government agencies in rolling out this programmes.
