The Paramount Chief of Bole, Bolewura Sarfo Kutuge Feso, has encouraged investors to come to the Bole Traditional Area to invest. The Bolewura made the call at a durbar to round off this year’s Damba Festival of the Chiefs and People of the Bole Traditional Area at Bole in the Savannah Region.
GBC’s Emmanuel Mensah-Abludo reports that the durbar which was attended by a delegation from the North Mo Traditional Council served as a platform to further deepen the relation between North Mo and Bole Traditional Councils.
Bolewura Kutuge Feso indicated that the Traditional Council is ready to release the required land for investment and challenged individuals and business entities to take advantage of the Peaceful nature of Bole to invest in the area.
Secretary of the Bolewura, Abdulai Haruna Obey in a amessage on behalf of the Paramount Chief expressed joy for playing host to the delegation from the North Mo Traditional Council.
”The Bole Traditional Council under the leadership of Bolewura Sarfo Kutuge Feso is very happy to see our Brothers from the North Mo [Traditional] Council at this year’s Damba Festival Celebration. Actually form part of reunification and reconciliation for the peaceful coexistence that exists between the Gonjas and for that matter Bole and the Mos since time immemorial.”
Touching on Bolewura’s Educational Fund which was set up last year, Mr. Haruna Obey entreated all those who made pledges to fulfil their promise to enable the Fund to reach out to more academically promising, but needy students this year. He commended the Bole Senior High School for coming tops in the Savannah Region during the 2020 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
The MP for Bole-Bamboi, Alhaji Yusuf Sulemana paid tribute to the Bolewura for his efforts towards peace and development and the Chiefs to continue to give their support for further socio-economic advancement of the area.
“There is no time for me to enumerate all the developmental initiatives that you have initiated. I am happy to be before the area during your reign. Of course you couldn’t have done this without the support of your chiefs and other traditional rulers. All traditional rulers, I ask that you support the Bolewura the way you are supporting him so together, we will be able to bring the needed development to Bole- Bamboi [constituency]and the traditional area in general,” Alhaji Sulemana stressed.
The Deputy CEO of Ghana Tourism Authority, Ekow Sampson said as a result of the pandemic, tourism statistics dropped from about 699,000 visitors in 2019 to about 200,000 in 2020. He noted that the Savannah region of Ghana has a significant number of tourist attractions which draws tourists not only to the region but to the country as a whole.
The tourist sites include Mole National Park, Salaga Slave Market, Larabanga Mosque and the Mystic Stone among others. The Mandariwura Seidu Awusi led the Divisional Chiefs to pay homage to the Bolewura.
The focus of the event was “Promoting Culture and Heritage, the Role Traditional Authority.
