The Food and Drugs Authority, FDA in collaboration with the Ghana Police Service, has retrieved 270 cartons of expired Charmes Sparkling Non-Alcoholic Red and White Grape Juice from the market.

The expired products were discovered based on a tip-off from a vigilant observer.

A statement by the Chief Executive Officer, Delesse Mimi Darko, said the distributor has been arrested to assist with investigations.

The FDA cautioned the public against consuming the products, as it cannot guarantee their quality and safety. It said the FDA will retrieve any of such products found during its market surveillance activities, adding that persons in possession of the products should return them immediately to any FDA office across the country.

The FDA is by the statement, warning the public to be extra vigilant, as the festive season approaches to ensure that products purchased are of good quality and within the best before or expiry dates.
