Prominent New Patriotic Party (NPP) member Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko has congratulated John Dramani Mahama, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, on his victory in the 2024 Ghanaian presidential election.
This message follows a concession speech by the NPP’s candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who acknowledged Mahama’s win. Reports from polling stations suggest Mahama secured a significant lead, marking a decisive victory.
In a statement shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Otchere-Darko praised Ghana’s democratic process and expressed his commitment to a peaceful transfer of power.
“Congratulations to President-elect John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress for an emphatic victory. The people have spoken. Democracy lives. Let Ghana be the ultimate winner,” he wrote.
Otchere-Darko’s remarks highlight the importance of democracy and unity as Ghana prepares for a new leadership under Mahama.
