Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel Abu Jinapor says Government will diligently implement the outcome of the National Consultative Dialogue on Small Scale Mining to bring finality to the issue of illegal mining in the country.

Speaking on day-two of the dialogue, Mr Jinapor said it will be in the best interest of the country to implement the outcome of the forum dispassionately, without political biases. He said a full report will also be put together and implemented with a sense of urgency.

President Akufo-Addo on Wednesday, 14, opened the two-day Consultative Dialogue in Accra and called on participants to discuss illegal small-scale mining devoid of partisan politics, narrow and parochial interests.

  1. Government must take over all mining activities in trust for the people. The chiefs are custodians of the land, but the minerals belong to the government. let’s go back to State Gold Mining Company and mine all the gold to be refined and kept in the Bank of Ghana.
