Head of Communications at the GPRTU, Abass Imoro has raised concerns over the attitude of private vehicle owners which according to him is the cause of the Majority of road accidents in the country.
According to him, private vehicle users ply the road as though they are in competition with commercial transport operators and as a result, do unnecessary overtaking which results in a head-on collision. Mr.Imoro advised Commercial Transport Operators to be careful especially during the yuletide and obey all road regulations to minimize road crashes.
”Most of these flashy cars will make unnecessary overtaking, threatening you in your lane and if you don’t take time, there will be head on collision so we are reminding our people that when we use the road, it is not a competition”.
