A Tax Expert, Peter Terkper is calling for an independent body to audit all auctions and processes to ensure transparency.
He said to ensure fairness, anyone found as a culprit should face the rigors’ of the law. This, according to him, will serve as a deterrent to others.
Speaking on Behind the News, Mr. Terkper called on the government not to interfere in the auction processes by appointing officials into those institutions.

Mr. Terkper added that, while efforts are being made to fight corruption, the energy should be units’ prevention rather than the actions taken by the Special Prosecutor.
He said even though it is in the right direction, the focus should be on how to prevent it from happening.
He said institutions mandated for auctioning should follow the guidelines given to ensure the sustainability of efforts in curbing corruption.
