Voting in the Krowor Constituency has been calm and orderly this morning, with most polling centers recording minimal queues. When GBC Radio visited various polling stations, voters arrived sporadically to cast their ballots.
The elderly and persons with disabilities received assistance from relatives and election officials to facilitate their voting process. However, voting at several centers, including Pentecost Church, St. Augustine’s A and B, Adormli Park, Presby Zimmerman Church, and Christ Apostolic Church, was delayed until around 8:30 AM due to a late arrival of electoral materials.
Presiding officers acknowledged minor challenges with proxy votes, which were swiftly addressed, allowing the voting process to proceed smoothly.
At the Regional Maritime University (RMU), which hosts four polling stations, the incumbent MP and NDC parliamentary candidate, Dr. Mrs. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, arrived at Centre 2B at 10:04 AM to cast her vote.
At Henry Polling Station Centre A, with 474 registered voters, 78 had cast their ballots by 9:18 AM. Similarly, at Centre B, with an identical voter register, 74 votes had been recorded.
At RMU Polling Centre 1B, Presiding Officer Nakwah France reported 141 voters had cast their votes by 10:45 AM, out of 488 registered voters. He also noted two proxy votes and three transfers were expected at the center. At RMU Centre 2A, Presiding Officer Mahmuda Ainoo ensured an orderly voting process, with 82 voters out of 451 on the register casting their votes by mid-morning.
Security was tight across all polling stations, with officers from the Ghana National Fire Service present to ensure peace and safety. Additionally, two polling agents each from the NPP and NDC were observed at the various centers to monitor the process.
