Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu in the Volta region has revealed that the current Presidential Aircraft, a $37m French-built Dassault Falcon 900EX-Easy is in very good condition and can fly anywhere around the world.

He made this revelation on the GTV’s Breakfast Show on February 24, 2022.

”The Falcon 900EX-Easy was ordered by former President Kuffour in 2008 and arrived in Ghana in 2010 because when you order these jets, it takes two years for the manufacturers to manufacture it according to your specification. We as a country during the era of former President Kuffuor gave the manufacturers, that is the Dassault company in France our specification, how comfortable we want it, the kind of seat arrangements, how spacious we want it, the size, the number of people it should take amongst other things and they configured the aircraft based on our specification”, the MP explained.

He added that the president of Liberia applies to use Ghana’s Presidential jet and he is granted, and the Foreign Affairs Minister in the person of SHIRLEY BOTCHWEY has confirmed this. Again, Samuel Okudzeto stated that “I have asked the Foreign Affairs Minister to give me a list of Presidents who have applied to use the presidential jet and she has confirmed that Guinea President, Sierra Leonean President amongst others have all used the Dassault Falcon and people should stop saying that the Presidential Jet is not fit for purpose”.

He concluded by insisting that Ghana’s Presidential Jet is in good shape and should be used by President Nana Akufo-Addo.
