The United States Embassy in Ghana has congratulated Ghanaians on successfully conducting the 2024 general elections.
In a post on their official X account, the embassy described the elections as a reflection of the will of the Ghanaian people and applauded the country’s commitment to democracy.
The statement also highlighted the U.S.’s readiness to continue its strong partnership with Ghana under the leadership of President-elect John Dramani Mahama.
The embassy commended all candidates for their participation in the election and their dedication to maintaining peace during the process.
The U.S. Embassy particularly praised Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s concession speech, describing it as an eloquent demonstration of the values of democracy and a peaceful transfer of power.
“We stand with the people of Ghana and their belief in the power of the people and that democracy delivers,” the embassy stated, emphasizing their support for Ghana’s democratic journey.
The congratulatory message from the U.S. underscores the international recognition of Ghana’s peaceful elections and democratic maturity.
