Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, on Thursday, January 17, 2019, joined the sons and daughters of Dagbon in Yendi for the funeral rites of the late Ya Naa Yakubu Andani II, king of Dagbon.
He also attended, the funeral of the late Ya Naa Mahamadu Abdulai IV at also at Yendi, on Thursday, 27, December 2018.
According to Vice President Dr. Bawumia, on his twitter handle, “The performance of these two funerals is historic and thanks goes to God, the President, the Eminent Chiefs, the Abudu and Andani Royal Gates and all stakeholders who made this possible.”
Dr. Bawumia is hopeful that the performance of the funerals for the two late kings of Dagbon will lead to lasting peace and security, and foster greater harmony.
