Defending Africa Women Cup of Nations champions Nigeria have been drawn alongside South Africa, Burundi and Botswana in Group C. The draw was held in Rabat, Morocco.
Former Moroccan hurdler and 1984 Olympic gold medalist Nawal El Moutawakel as well as Cameroon and Inter Milan player Ajara Nchout Njoya joined CAF’s Director of Competitions Samson Adama for the draw.
Group A comprises of Morocc, Burkina Faso, Senegal and Uganda.
While Group B includes Cameroon Zambia Tunisia and Togo.
GROUP C is made up of Nigeria, South Africa, Burundi and Botswana
This will be the first time Morocco will be hosting the tournament. The biggest Women’s football competition on the Continent will be hosted from 2 to 23 July 2022 at Complexe Sportif Mohammed V – Casablanca,
Complexe Sportif Moulay Abdellah – Rabat and Stade Moulay Hassan – Rabat. The draw was live on GTV Sports+.
