Government is to construct a multi-purpose International Olympic complex to put Ghana in a position to successfully host the 13th African Games in August 2023.
Speaking at the Jubilee House at the inauguration of a nine-member Local Organising Committee (LOC) to work towards hosting the tournament, President Akufo-Addo said Ghana does not have an internationally accepted stadium that can host 25 different games hence the decision to build a new complex.
The Multipurpose sports complex will be converted into a University of Sports for development in 2024 after hosting the competition.
