Renowned Ghanaian Investigative Journalist and Managing Editor at the Fourth Estate Media, Manasseh Azure Awuni, has shared his observations on the State Broadcaster, Ghana Broadcasting Corporation over the past few years, saying GBC has advanced from the days when diverse opinions were not allowed to days when divergent views about the government are welcomed.
Manasseh revealed in an interview with Kafui Dey on a Panel discussion held on Sunday, July 23, 2023, that his even though his journalism career began with GBC, his first bite of the investigative journalism began at Joy Fm.
According to him, he could not begin his investigative career at the State Broadcaster because of how the system was running at that time.
The Investigative journalist, however acknowledged that GBC has advanced massively and that is impressive to watch and behold by many Ghanaians and media personnel.
“I think if it had bitten me here, it would have died here because, the GBC today, is not the GBC of those days. I have said that, in the past few years some of us are beginning to see a new GBC, that things people could say on GBC platforms did not exist”, he said.
